Season Change = Blood Moon ? (Zelda)

It appears to me that the season change works like the blood moon in zelda. Its stated that all patrols and enemies are back, but i get the feeling the more you kill the sooner the season changes. I mean i only cleared like 1 castle and the season was over... anyone else feel the same ?
