1968 debut album is underrated

I listened to Nilsson Sings Newman for the first time all the way through. I really enjoyed it, especially the songs from Newman's debut album, which I wasn't familiar with. So I listened to Randy Newman (1968). I love this album. I love the string arrangements, the melodies, and even Randy's singing. I don't know why people don't rate this one higher. For me, it's as good as Good Old Boys, Sail Away, and Bad Love (my three favorites).

EDIT: I learned that Randy Newman signed away all his rights in the compositions on the album. Every time someone does a cover of one of these songs, he gets no royalties. This may explain why he never plays these songs in concert.
