On lease for the next couple years

I got into a 3-year lease with a Solterra this past May and have been loving it, but am unsure about the stability of its future. My business professor once told the class that to become a millionaire, never lease a car, and to keep and maintain your vehicle for twenty years…amid other savings rules. But a car accident right before starting my first job as a graduate left me in an impulsive rush to get into another vehicle, and the affordable price of a lease was blindly tempting. Just wondering what everyone else’s take on the longevity of the Solterra is. Meanwhile, going through graduate school in an apartment and figuring the next couple years are going to be a debate between homeownership or car ownership.
