EXPIRED PLAN B????

im new to this subreddit but my partner and i bought an emergency contraceptive (or morning after) pill at walmart yesterday. i was going to take it but when i look on the bottom it says "EXP: 08/2023"??? i'm pretty sure we're about to enter into the month of october so i thought to myself maybe i read wrong so i asked them if they could take a look as well but our eyes were sadly correct. later today, we're going to go back with the receipt and try and get it exchanged for an up to date pill but my panic about this whole thing is a little scary... i know it's not a huge situation but i hope it's easily solved! i'm just overthinking of how many other emergency contraceptive pills are there and why they are selling expired inventory (especially in a state that views all of this as a sin lol). are there any other people out there with similar experiences? i can update later if anything.
