If Walz or Beshear had ever been frontrunners there would also be organized campaigns against them that would dig up anything that could be spun to look bad, and there would be plenty of stuff to find because there always is. But they were never frontrunners so nobody bothered. Don't kid yourselves ---- if one of the others is the VP choice you bet suddenly there'll be plenty to criticize during the general election cycle.
