Final thoughts about Season 5 - Crave and Production lurking here, please LISTEN TO THE FANS!
I really love CDR and have been one of the main supporters of it on Reddit but this season just didn't really click with me.
It started off so strong and promising with the queens having 30+ verses showing off their skills and I was very much looking forward to it.
But then we had all those twisted challenges coming up and this cast just couldn't really nail those collectively.
Since we are having Season 6 - I really hope production fixes those issues:
- Cast more seasoned/older queens like Kitten and Jaylene and actually maybe push them further. Two years in a row older queens end up being the most beloved contestants and both leave rather early and could have easily been kept for more.
- Keep the fresh ideas and twists but apply them better for the cast you have - they need to evaluate queens abilities before determining the challenges
- Stop choosing your Top-2 at the start of the season. I mean - come on. It has been painfully obvious for 3 years in a row now that production chooses its Top-2 from the very first episode and pushes those.
- I think that Tara should have stayed and she could have potentially brought some organic drama and fun chaos cause she really wanted to win so bad.
- Sanjina was also so unhinged - mega Melinda moment wasted there.
- I say Mix the Golden and Wooden Beaver twist to create even more drama.
- BRING BACK BROOKE-MIX for the Finale - Just in general we need BETTER GG writing - like CanVsTW2 just had one of the best GG with Tongue Pop, so Canada can do it.
Overall, I still enjoy Canada so much for how RAW and REAL it is and how much fun do the judges and the queens have - they really need to listen and let the show FLOW as it does naturally!
